g/f stressing me out..

I'm having trouble connecting to the internet with my laptop samsung nc10.
my O2 contract doesn't end until October.
the O2 connections manager shows four 'hot spots' (or whatever they are called) they are all poor connections. the one that works best is the BTOpenzone and that only works for about five minutes then drops out.
the laptop/dongle worked fairly well upto about a week ago.
I bought this laptop for my girfriend to use, she lives about a mile away from me. When she brings the laptop to my house it connects to my router perfectly and she can go on her Facebook all day long.

please can you help, because I'm getting a lot of earache...lol :smileyindifferent:

Re: g/f stressing me out..

Options:
1) take laptop away from girlfriend
2) change girlfriend
:robotwink:
I'm going to play dumb blonde for a second or two. Is this a mobile dongle or a home broadband problem? If the latter then I suspect that the other hotspots have changed the access key if using by wifi.

Re: g/f stressing me out..

Or more likely, the position of the laptop in relation to the signal strength is probably playing a part. Have you tried it in other rooms to see what the resulting connection is?

Re: g/f stressing me out..

Thankyou for your reply Sheepdog :smileyvery-happy:
I assume you are female if you suggest option 1 and 2 :smileyindifferent:
my g/f seemed reluctant to try to get online in her bedroom :robotsurprised:
I did suggest she tried it in her friends upstairs flat. Failing that I will try different places in the town.
Is BTOpenzone a recent addition? because she could access the internet ok until about a week ago.
The unit is a Samsung C10 tablet with an O2 dongle.
I've usually found that forums give me better answers that phoning support.
Thankyou again for trying..

Re: g/f stressing me out..

on reading the o2 mobile broadband user guide it says when The Cloud browser appears, register. this i have not done, will try tomorrow.
hint for Sheepdog.... If you want your spouse to listen and
pay strict attention to every word you say -- talk in your sleep.
