Re: htc v nokia n8

Well the obvious thing to point out that HTC is a brand not a phone so you'll need to specify which model you want to compare. As the the N8, you'll get people saying Nokia is dead and buried as Android/iPhone is dominating. However, its a phone and if it does the job now and for the next couple of years you'll be fine.
But don't sign up to a two year contract for it though, buy it sim free :smileywink:
There's always a high end HTC phone coming out which would be better on a contract being the latest gizmo.

Re: android phone v iphone v symbian

I used to be a symbian user (sony ericsson ) But have been apple since the 3g came out My mum still uses my old 3g and I have a 4
I have tried andriod phones(friends) and to be honest prefer the iphone.
Sony ericsson had great (smart) phones with the p range until the p1 and that was when we lost interest in that range.
It depends on what specfic functions you want in a phone. (we are business users)
2 iPhone 4s 16gb 1 iPhone 4 16gb on a business contract
iPad 3 64gb
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

Re: android phone v iphone v symbian

Symbian is dying. Nokia have passed it on to another company to develop but as Nokia was it's primary user (others have abandoned it) and are moving to WP7 usage will drop off I think.
iPhone is ever popular with loads of apps. Limited choice of handset though.
Android is gaining on iPhone in terms of apps, though lagging a lot in games still. Huge range of handsets, the top line of which stomp the iPhone on spec.
WP7 is nice but lacking in apps at the mo.
What are you looking for in a phone?

Re: android phone v iphone v symbian

Do you want one that will last a 2 year contract and be updated during that period? Then I think the only reasonably certain option is the iphone.

Or Android if you root and flash custom ROMS.

:smileyvery-happy: Am I showing my prejudices? Mind you being honest the iphone 3 is no longer being supported, so to keep up you need at least a GS. I guess they all want you to upgrade after a couple of years.

Re: android phone v iphone v symbian

My only gripe with Apple is the way they try to exert a huge amount of control over their users, so I much prefer Android.
I can't see anything to beat them at present.
Also I got mine sim free in order to keep my unlimited data allowance, as I think the data limits on new contracts are derisory.
Just my opinion. :smileyvery-happy:
