Hi @Anonymous

The PUK Code is to unblock your sim card if you inputted your pin code too many times. This code does not unblock your phone to use another Networks sim card.

PUK O2 Help Link : http://www.o2.co.uk/puk/

You need to request the unlock to all networks to via https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

This is a free service to Contract Customers and £15 to PAYG Customers {T&C Apply}.

The unfortunate thing is that you typically need to be in the Uk to use the code O2 will e mail you to complete the unlock process.

A help thread : http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-Services/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/td-p/540294

 Credits to MI5.

You will either need to use WiFi while your there and turn Mobile data off in your phones settings, or see if you can get the phone unlocked from a shop in the country your in. {At your own risk}

If your going to continue to use your phone with your o2 Sim card in it then make sure your aware of the roaming costs.

Calling back to UK£1.20
Receiving a Call£0.85
Calling In Country£1.20
Calling In Zone£1.79
Calling Out of zone£1.79
Sending a Text£0.40

If you have left your O2 Voicemail turned on then this can lead to roaming charges too.

Think about downloading TuGo which will use your Minutes/Texts from your allowance which is only available to Contract Customers at this time.

I am going to guess that you have entered the (incorrect) PUK into the phone whilst it was asking for a network code. If you have entered this many times you will have locked the phone out completely which is why NO SIM will now work at all.
Only Nokia can rescue this phone for you now.

Possibly online live chat has got a little muddled up with what you wanted.

If it's as mi5 states your pretty much stuck until you return to the uk and visit a Nokia care point.

The phone was working fine on O2 until you messed with it so it's not O2's problem.
You need an unlock code if you want to use a different sim card (NOT a PUK) and you can only unlock when in the UK so there is nothing you can do until you get home and you will no doubt need a new sim card too to use on O2 when back home - an O2 shop can sort this out for you easily.

How long are you abroad for ?

By the time you have tried to sort this you may be on your way back home.

You can't get the phone unlocked until you return.
