The Cloud

Hi All. Been away for a while! Can someone remind me how I use 'The Cloud' wi-fi hotspots with my mobile? I'd read somewhere that O2 and The Cloud had parted company.. but even if they haven't, I can't recall how to log onto one of their hotspots when I'm out and about. Is it true that O2 customers get free access?

Re: The Cloud

o2 customers no longer get free access as part of any tariff.
But most of the cloud is free anyway.
Just delete any saved wifi profile for the cloud.
Then search for wifi hotspots select the cloud and follow the instructions.
You may have to set up a free account with them to get access.
There is a section in the suport site about this http://bit.ly/vuNF1F

Re: The Cloud

Thanks for the quick reply. I took a look at 'The Cloud' website and downloaded the Android app (like it says). When I launch it a window pops up asking if I'd like to register. When I click 'ok', I get a screen that says '4u wifi'. and when I enter my mobile number to register, it says my tariff doesn't allow it. I was pretty sure ALL pay monthly contracts had free wi-fi, so have I've goofed somehow?
Cheers

Cheers again!
So is there a login sequence for BT Openzone - how do I log into that service?

Re: The Cloud

on an included btopenzone (many are not included as they are personal or business hotspots) you land on an o2 branded page and just enter your o2 number a bit like the cloud was.
(If you are a bt broadband customer and open your home adsl up as a fon spot you get access to many more hotspots)

Re: The Cloud

Those of you that still want to use the free Cloud sites the easiest way I have found is by registering with The Cloud for a free account - creating the usual username / password
You don't have to use the Wifi Connect program (I has to remove it as it is not compatible on a Galaxy Nexus) Simply open the browser and put in your username and password and off you go.
I've used it at 3 sites so far.
To contact O2 click "Contact us" at the bottom of any O2 page, and click the service you need, or wait for "Live Chat" to appear.
