Hi!!

My mother in-law needs a new Pay & Go phone (she currently has a REALLY old Samsung - te flip style ones!! Destroy) and has asked me to recommend something to her!

Personally, I only really know about iPhones and these are out of her price range.  I was looking at the Amazon Fire phone on O2 (its currently on Amazon for £99) however, after watching some lengthy YouTube reviews, the phone seems overly complicated and has far too many features than what she will need. Smiley Frustrated

Therefore, I am back to square one!!!

Can someone recommend anything decent for about £100?

Thanks in advance

Lumia 530 around £60 or the Lumia 535 around £99

...oh yea, actually forgot about the Lumias Smiley Embarassed  I actually quite like the Lumia (my mum had one) so at least I know how they work and they definitely look easier to use than that Amazon Fire phone!!

Thanks jonsie! wink

Also, if she could stretch to £150ish there's the Moto G range.

I've got the 4g version, and I've bought my oh the second gen (bigger screen) version. Neither cost more than £150 and for the money are a great phone!

Also, there's the doro range, which are marketed for the older user. I bought my Dad one, and he loves it. They're under the £100 mark. I'll pop back with a link.

I'll have a quick scan to see where is selling those the cheapest, and pop back again 😅

doro 740

The above link is just one place I've found selling the doro 740 for £99. I don't know how kosher the place is though, I just Googled to find u a link.

The firephone price of 99 is fair and it should have been nearer that on release but for some silly reason amazon thought it was much higher end than it is.
But I still wouldn't recommend one to your mum in law, but only because it's OS is unique and hasn't got that "pick up and use" quality of others.

I wouldn't recommend the Firephone to anyone actually. Something that plays at being android but isn't

I would choose a chinese import before that one (so there!) LOL

Thanks for the recommendatiions guys.

Yep, that Amazon Fire phone does indeed look like the worst choice!

The Doro phone linked above looks good but is an unfamiliar phone so not sure I would be happy with that (she is gonna sk me to set it up for her).

Think the Nokia Lumias are the best choices - looking on Amazon, there are quite a number of them all under £100.

Also take a look on Amazon at the Motorola Moto E. Very inexpensive.

I would go for the easiest to use,  reliability and a good brand. The Lumia ticks those boxes.
