Dial-up Settings: Phone number reverted

After many, many attempts to get webmail in the "same old" way, I've now found that the number I've been using all these years doesn't work any more. There's a modem there, but it hangs up. I tried using the old number (I used to use it years ago, until I found out how expensive it was!)
For the record, the number I can't use any more is 0771 2932932.
The old number which I've now found works is 0844 0529009.
It remains to be seen how much it costs........
Please note, especially moderators, neither of these numbers is a personal number; they are both dial-up numbers for mobile webmail!

Dial-up GSM

Moderators, please note: Phone numbers mentioned in the text are NOT personal numbers, they are numbers offered by O2 for dial-up GSM internet/email retrieval!
So I continue my attempts to retrieve email by GSM after the failure of my previous dial-up number, +447712932932. This number still connects to a modem, but it disconnects as soon as it recognises the phone. It's probably a PAYG number now. I used to use it at 10ppm.
I reverted to the number I used to use years ago which was expensive (about 25ppm): +448440529009. This number works-I can get internet and email, no problem, but it's still too expensive!
I rang Customer Services and asked for a current GSM dial-up number and was given a new one: +447712927927. I was told that it would cost 19ppm.
My calling plan states that I will be charged 10ppm for GSM calls. This new number doesn't work at all-so the only one that does work actually costs 17ppm net-I know this because I've tested it and checked the charge on my account.
Customer Services tell me that I "should have been informed of the increase on my bill. I don't get a paper bill and there's nothing on my on-line account about it. The last renewal notice I have states GSM costs 10ppm. So, they say it costs 10ppm and they charge 17ppm (net!)
Guess who won't be renewing his contract?

Re: POP3 Settings for ISP's

So it's pop.orange.com and smtp.orange.com for the incoming and outgoing server addresses now for freeserve.co.uk, fsnet.co.uk, etc?
Thanks.
