Ordered 10am Friday - Paid over £200 - Pre out of stock

So I placed my order for the pre at about 10 am Friday morning, day of release.

I checked the web at 8am and it still wasn't allowing you to order the pre, finally at 10ish it seems to work so I order one, pay my £96 for the 18 month tariff I want. Also then get charged £100 for a bond for 3 months or something which I'll then get back, then choose the Saturday next day delivery before 12pm which is an extra £9.

So I don't receive the phone Saturday, despite over £200 being taken from my bank account. Then Monday I still don't receive the phone, figure I'll give it until today. Still nothing turns up, so I email O2 and am told that the Palm Pre is out of stock, even though it clearly said on the web page it was 'in stock' when I ordered it..... and guess what, if I go to the palm pre ordering page now, guess what it says? In stock!! :smileyindifferent: :robotmad:

Good start O2, I'm not even a customer yet!!

Sounds like the iphone all over again. Although the O2 shop I visited on Saturday had stock and not one single customer in the shop
To contact O2 click "Contact us" at the bottom of any O2 page, and click the service you need, or wait for "Live Chat" to appear.

Lol nice!

There I was thinking I would be clever and just sit at work and order one, have it turn up the next day, simple!

How wrong I was :smileymad:

Roy,

I did the same as you. Ordered around 1030 on the Friday. Paid £9 for next day delivery. Turned up at 0930 Saturday morning.

I initially got a text telling me it would arrive on Monday, then another one arrived to say Saturday morning as planned. :womanindifferent:

I didn't get charged for the bond though.

Hope it arrives soon.

I understand why I may have had to do the bond thing as my credit rating is probably poor from some mistakes I made a number of years ago (though i've had 3 other phones on contract for over 10 years and never missed a payment so I know that's all fine now), but none the less, I order the same time as you, pay my money (which they take!) and now I get told it's not in stock when at the time the website clearly stated it was!

Even says it's in stock now!

Makes me want to tell them to shove it up their ass and I'll just go get the HTC HD2 :smileyvery-happy:

I am considering ordering one online from the O2 shop but concerned they are out of stock even though it says in stock. Has anybody ordered yesterday and received their Pre today :robotindifferent:

Well they have even stopped answering my emails now, taken my money and run!

Having spent 5 years each with T-Mobile and then Vodafone got to say O2, you suck!

Well here's the latest reply mate, wouldn't bother ordering online if I were you.

"Thanks for getting in touch with us about the Palm Pre.

I'm sorry Roy that, you didn't receive the Palm Pre order. Due to the high demand Palm Pre is currently out of stock and I'm sorry that website is not updated with the same.

I've forwarded the request to have this updated on the website as well. As and when Palm Pre is available, we 'll send you one.

I hope the above information is explained clearly."

Thanks for the heads up Roy.

Looks like I will be taking a visit to the shop but then will not get my Quidco cashback :smileysad:

I may well order online though and take a chance that the stock shortage is only a few days.

Ordered 10am Friday - Paid over £200 - Pre out of stock

It just annoys me, I mean I waited for this phone for ages, I tried one while in the staes and thought it was a great piece of kit. I wanted one, never wanted an iphone, wanted one of these things.

So I run my contract down on T-Mobile, figue I'll get online real early on Friday and order one, no probs. I even checked the web-site at 1am, and 7am and you still couldn't buy it online.

Ordered it just before 10am when I got to work, they take my cash and now I'm told it's out of stock!! :smileymad: I think it's outrageous to be honest.

Should of just gone to an O2 shop, they clearly have more then enough to go around.

It's up to you mate, if I thought it would be hassle free to have O2 refund what I've alredy paid them then I would do that and just pop into my local shop. But I can see that causing more problems, so I'll just have to wait :smileysad:

On a side note, i'm using an old nokia as a spare right now, must be at least 10 years old. Anyway the battery on this thing lasts for literally 7 days! I'm on my 4th day now since my last full charge and the battery has not even gone down 1 bar! :smileyvery-happy:
