I commented on this thread because I had an opinion on the new Blackberry software.  I just so happened to pass comment on the issue with the BBM on my iPhone, which is sort of related to Blackberry.  It is not going off topic at all.  It was one post that wasn't directly about the topic.

It is not the first and only post by any member on here which has not gone slightly off topic and it is not my intention to go off topic.

as your phone is an iphone, and the thread was about an upgrade to the Z10/Q10's operating system of course it's off topic to post questions about the iphones incarnation of Blackberry Messenger, those questions should be in the iphone section as it's an app for the iphone end of!

When people are talking of the new Blackberry software, in this context, they're referring to the update of BB10 operating system with its new features.

So to get back on topic ..... come on O2 where's the update grin

Hi bud,

How do you know that the software update is the 28th, also does anyone know if you are required to have blackberry link installed on your machine to do it?

I can't install blackberry link on windows 8.1.....

A number of tech blog sites in the states have stated it will be the 28th, including Crackberry.com which is arguably the biggest Unofficial BlackBerry blog site.

You don't need Link to do an update, although it would be advisable to take a backup of your phone with it first. You can perform the update OTA ( over the air), which means just over Wifi on your phone.

Thanks for your reply, can I back my phone up on the blackberry cloud using my Wifi as that would be ideal. A little like the process that apple have.

Which arguably is a fantastic way to backup your phone!

I am hoping too they will release it this month, I have notice now that o2 does not offer many Blackberry products, oh well, I am not jumping ship, I have heard this new release will allow the installation of Android Apps,
