Been told by a friend O2 open can be applied for wearable instore ie Microsoft band 20% off another store told me no so who is telling the truth

If you are an O2 Open customer you can use your code for a 20% discount on accessories.

I rang the Trafford centre store she put it through the till it took of 20% ,the Bolton store said no ,another store said come in we will knock you 10% off without open so god knows

The more I think about it the more I think Open won't apply as it's designed for discount of monthly payments.
I guess it's the individual shops just applying their own level of discount at POS. If you don't ask, you don't get kinda policy.
