Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

[ Edited ]

Are you sure? A google of that phone number shows that Tim Malpass is Customer Relations for Phones4U;

Also Tim Malpass' LinkedIN says otherwise;

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

The guy has posted on Phones4U again, he's had another response from Phones 4U and they say that previous email was complete rubbish;

"I fear my being a pain is the only way to get a response - a senior account manager has phoned to apologise for the email I got (copied above), apparently its complete rubbish and shouldn't have been sent.

He's going to call me tomorrow, with an update from P4Us discussions with o2 & Nokia - even if its a "we've heard nothing". He's also going to try and clarify the position on the freebies...

Ain't going to stop me asking awkward question, especially of o2... or indeed copying tech twitter feeds into my disgruntlement.

I'm normally an easy customer - I pay my bills, I deal with most problems myself... I really don't like poor customer service though!"

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

I posted about this on CPW's forum and they say I should have the phone on the 28th May and the delay is down to stock issues from Nokia. Nothing more, nothing less. I think P4U have been telling lies to stop people from cancelling their ordfer and going elsewhere.

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

Well I have been trying to get a straight answer for months now and recently been in touch with O2 - who say that they are not offering the Lumia 900 at this point in time but that doesn't mean to say that they won't be offering it further on down the line (it sound like they are as clueless and in the dark as the rest of us!) - and also CPW and P4U, who neither of which are now offering the Lumia 900 on O2. Something definitely fishy is going on as CPW and P4U both were selling the Lumia 900 and had it on pre-order and now they are not. Also, from what I was told from O2, they were not aware that 3rd parties were offering this handset on O2. Now they are aware of this you cannot get the Lumia 900 through O2 from any other 3rd party. Who knows what is going off...?!!!!

I really don't think that it is a big ask at all - a simple case of upgrading to a certain handset continuing to be a loyal long-standing customer with O2. I really can't see what the problem is at all and if there is a problem why don't you (O2) just be honest with your loyal customers and keep us well informed????? You must be very successful indeed if you don't mind treating customers this way. I know quite a few people who have just upped and left O2 for this very reason...

I'm still desperately hanging on with the sincere hope that O2 will finally see the light and just do the right thing.....:smileysad:

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

I'm guessing you didn't see my thread below where I said CPW had dispatched my Lumia 900 on O2 and I should have it tomorrow?

Also, CPW are clearly selling the Lumia 900 on O2 on their website right now, I don't know what you are talking about.

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

To be honest, I wouldn't trust a word O2 say on the matter, all I got was random responses from staff who obviously had no idea about anything that can't already be read off their website.  I've had:

"At the moment, we don't have any info that when the Lumia 900 will
launch or when it'll be available on O2."

or

"The Nokia Lumia 900 will be launching soon on Pay & Go."

I'm just relying on the preorder page from the website I ordered from, they don't answer questions either.  Looks like I won't get any free headphones, but I might get my phone at the start of June... maybe!

From O2 Germany's Coming Soon page: http://www.o2online.de/handy/handy-vorschau/

What's the problem O2 UK?

Also, O2 Germany have confirmed a 32GB edition as well. . .

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

I'm fairly sure the 32Gb thing is an error. Given Nokia are having stock issues as it is I can't see them doing a seperate production run of 32Gb handsets just for the German market.

Re: Lumia 900 - Just announce it already!

I still don't buy it. 'Confirmation' means the Twitterer probably checked the same literature that stated it was 32Gb and started all these rumours to begin with.

This would be suicide for Nokia, it'd alienate UK customers who have just bougth 16Gb versions not to mention other countries who will be seen as 'guinea pigs'.
