Looks like they are not getting it, or any other WP7 phones. They are too in Apples pocket, I am off to a different network.

I'm off to another network too. O2 have the worst selection of handsets..and a visit yesterday to my local store proved their loyalty to the iPhone..and the staff see wp7 as a joke. Mango love for me too. x

It's not O2 who are being funny but Nokia who want to dictate the terms

This article says different..purely on price apparantly, but on the whole O2 largely snub wp7..try talking to their staff about it :smileywink:

Re: Is O2 getting the new Nokia Lumia 800?

The best way to get a Lumia is to buy SIM Free and then use a SIM only contract - It will cost you less in the long run and you can always change networks when you want as it won't be locked to one carrier.

I was hoping to do that. So far it seems like it may only be on contract initially. But I can wait. I'm so bored with android now..looking forward to a wee change :smileyhappy: x
edit..carphone warehouse £469..seriously!? lol :smileyindifferent:

No. O2 has bet everything right down to the company exec fridge on the iPhone and they cannot afford to subsidise another premium flagship smartphone from a rival manufacturer. Neither can they afford to give up any additional retail floor space in marketing and promotion, lest this affects the holy sales of Apple's creations. Nokia want to promote their new baby in a big way and O2 aren't giving in to their demands.
I think the only way we will see the Lumia on O2 is when Nokia start to heavily discount and drop the strict terms of marketing and promotion. It's time to jump ship (for the first time I might add) - I think I'm heading to Vodafone next.
