HTC HD2 REPLY TEXT LAG

Hi,

I have a slight issue with my HD2. When replying to text messages (tap to compose text) there is a delay of about 10-15 seconds before the reply editor starts up.

Does anyone else have this same issue and if so is there something you can do to fix it?

Cheers guys...

HTC HD2 REPLY TEXT LAG

I had exactly the same but eventually realised what the lag is. The phone uses a threaded view so you see the whole conversation between you and the person you're texting which means if you've been sending lots of texts then it has to load every single one of both theirs and yours (just look at the scroll bar beside and wait till it stops). I counter this by deleting texts after I get to about 20 or so otherwise it can seem like a while before it responds. I believe you can turn threaded mode off but not looked into this so check xda developers. Either way if you've got lots of messages it'll always take a certain time to load them.

Yea i guess you're right, coming from an iphone which loads up the text threaded conversations instantly its just very annoying. with a 1ghz snapdragon processor you would think it could handle this without the lag....

Thanks for the info bud.

No probs.

Yeah I know what you mean I've seen my mates iphone do the same and expected similar but that's windows for you and maybe to do with Sense the way it handles it but for everything else the phone does I can live with it.

lol lets not forget when iPhone OS 2.0 was released we had exactly the same complaints. It took updates to fix the issue and the same applies here.

I have changed by settings as I hate converation mode.

Go to "Messages", then "All Messages", then "Menu", "Settings" at the bottom you will see the toggle between "Conversation" and "Traditional Mode" mode.

It's not all to do with Windows - it's HTC's messaging program that is slow for some reason. Will hopefully be fixed in the next update or so.

Should have been tested though, and then they could have implemented a quick fix by only loading the latest 5 or 10 messages, then loading more only when you scroll up.
