My Pre is currently away at the repairs department for the second time. I got it in November 2009 and all was OK until the WebOS 1.4 upgrade in March, which crashed the handset completely. It was reprogrammed and returned very quickly, but all was not completely well.
After three months of problems, it went back again. Dropped calls, battery discharging overnight, one eleven minute call using 10% of battery power, getting SOS only all the time, internet freezing, google maps constanty telling me that I had no internet connection, alarms not working properly etc. I posted it to them by recorded delivery on the 27th May and Royal Mail tracking had it as delivered on the 1st June. Having heard nothing by the 8th June, I rang them up, only to be told they hadn't got it!
They now claim they didn't receive it until the 9th and I should have it back early next week, three weeks after I know they received it. They are completely unresponsive to any idea of compensation for taking money for a service I have not received for almost a month. Any further issues with the handset and it will be returned a third time, at which point I will be asking for a different make and model as a replacement.
My previous handset was the Palm Treo 500, which still works like a charm, but I'll never have another Palm ever. If you want a handset with all the bells and whistles, get a Pre. If you want the bells and whistles to work, don't!
