EmotiCONS

Not applicable

How can I remove emoticons from my granddaughters phone as she regularly exceeds her monthly bill by using these in SMS messages.  She is using a Nokia Lumia 535 and the emoticon button is on the keyboard - is there a keyboard available without it ?  Can I disable ?

02 state they cannot block MMs (obviously they make a lot of money out of them)

Hi @Anonymous I have checked the Nokia forums and sadly these cannot be removed or disabled. I think you need to show your granddaughter this thread about SMS conversion and cost...

If she continues to use them then maybe she should pay for them? #just saying slight_frown

In the linked article from @Cleoriff is a section on disabling the mms apn.

If you do that on the phone then only sms messages can be sent.

I wonder if that works on all phones Adam? Certainly a search on Nokia forums said it couldn't be done?

Mind you ....damn good find matey. Happy Dance

(Although there are far cheaper alternatives if the granddaughter wants to send emoticons...Whatsapp and Messenger being two of them)

The mms profile can be disabled on any phone. Just remove that part of the apn or rem it out as per my link.
