If you can't do it through My O2 you would be better calling customer service or use the online chat on the support pages.

Just click on the 'contact us' at the foot of the O2 home page and when an adviser is free you will get the chat now message.

Just off the phone with customer services, it can take up to 72 hours due to the recent backlog from the outage.
I bought it yesterday and was told it should be active by Tuesday.
Probably not what you want to hear but it's an answer.
P.S. Great Customer Service, gave me credit for the inconvenience!
