Barring

Hi,

I lost my phone the other day and im in contact with a guy thats got it somehow, he say he'll give it back to me but is saying he can give it back to me for a until saturday. So, i was wondering, even if this guy takes my sim out of the phone and puts a new one in can i still get the phone barred through the imei number?

Thanks

Re: Barring

Yes you can get the phone barred and O2 will have a record of the IMEI number. You can also get the sim card blocked as well. It doesn't matter what sim card is in the phone, O2 will just block the handset.

When you say he will give you the phone back, are you going to get it back or not? Once the IMEI is blocked it can take a while to get it unblocked if you get it back. What is th reason for not getting the phone back till Saturday and is it someone known to yourself?

Re: Barring

Thanks for the reply

I want to get it back but this guy is messing me around. No, I do not know him. I've been in contact with customer service and found out quite a lot about what this guys been doing, regarding my phone and sim and it's not normal. I've barred all out going calls from my sim now, which means I can still be in contact with him but he is more restricted and I am now in contact with the police over the situation.

Thanks for your help
