...but today is st George's day.
That patron Saint of ours..
Now obviously it's not linked to raging alcohol intake in the evenings (like some others) but I personally find it a bit insulting that it gets little to no recognition these days. Mention St Patrick day and the Internet is ablaze with marketing (even o2) and people being honorary for the day.
Yet not a whisper for our saints day...

Oh, Shakespeares birthday/death day too.

the town where I live has a St George's Day Parade later on today, weather permitting etc I would like to go

the town's independent gentlemans's outfitters has it's flag of England & the Union Jack fluttering in the Spring breeze & sunshine ... they're very patriotic ... & why not? ... I support their business in a small way
