World News : Ebola: Heathrow to start screening passengers

Headline : Ebola: Heathrow to start screening passengers.

Excerpt from the Link "Heathrow airport is to start screening for Ebola among passengers flying into the UK from countries at risk."

My thoughts :

This is getting rather worrying when it could appear on our own doorstep. Not taking anything away from the people and families that have suffered from this to date.

wink

Serious subject though. So what happens if they find someone on a flight? Do they test every passenger on that flight, some of whom may have cleared customs and left. Flight crew too? I'm afraid there's a kind of inevitability that we are going to see cases here in the UK slight_frown

Bout blooming time, seems the western world has forgotten the role of quarantine.
I can't see them keeping the lid on this unless they change protocol, soon.

Speaking from a medical perspective....we are in for a very rough time with this one ...We are not prepared and the the prospects are unimaginable

Not often I agree with Jeremy Hunt...but he is right to say we have a global health emergency on our hands.

Someone likened it to the Aids epidemic. So far from the truth .....Aids wasn't as virulent as this.

With the National Health Service apparently stretched as it is the possible fallout from this is not a good prognosis. 😞

We wont cope...its as simple and dire as that....

We have neither the facilities nor staff trained at the level of Infectious Disease control required.
