Thank you @Marjo. Plan is to be in Japan on the 1st if reasonable flights can be arranged but I don't plan on doing much walking

Japan! Lovely! I was just looking at some interesting things to do there and I would definitely want to visit the Studio Ghibli museum and the Cat Island. Do either of these happen to be part of your trip by any chance?

No to be honest, the Tokyo Imperial Palace, Akihabara Electric Town, Roppongi for the nightlife and the Sensō-ji Buddhist Temple are planned but I've learned that a Thai woman's mind doesn't do planning.....so subject to change!
