I have a Canon all in one printer that I used to use wirelessly with the home router.

Yesterday we got a new router and I am trying to update the printer connection settings but I don't know how to.  I have been on the Canon website to try to find a solution but I did not find it helpful.

Does anyone know what to do?

Control Panel - Hardware devices and Sound - View devices and printers.

The settings are in there

I have the same Printer type from cannon and the wifi has always been glitchy.

Have you the latest drivers installed.

Also Cannon do have an extensive help database and I think some dedicated forums too along with customer support. I just hook up with a cable now as I gave in. 😣

Hi @Anonymous - I was told by a computer tech person a while ago that the printers need to be installed via USB before going to wifi (i don't know why).

That didn't happen with mine Gemz.

I installed the necessary drivers to my Mac and off I went. However it keeps going off line.

Not a deal breaker for me the amount of times I use it. 😄

I have been on control panel > printer and looked at the settings but the only option that is coming up is to connect it through the wireless network.  I want to add it as a stand alone device before I connect it wirelessly.

My printer has never been installed via USB, either Canon or my present Kodak. Once you have installed the software the printer should automatically be set up. Set it to search wifi and make sure your router is visible (a reboot may help) and you should just be able to enter the password. I can print from pc, phone and tablet.
