As per my earlier thread today, it's now a done deal.

I'm sure it will be some time before it takes effect.

Not good for three customers as they will no longer have discount there services due to poor national coverage.

Could see following consequences of 3 & O2 combining networks:

- improved coverage and good 3g signal

- Feel at Home for a handful of places + O2 Travel for the rest of the EU/EEA (hopefully slight_smile )

- Refresh plans to stay (hopefully with some 3-style unlimited data tariffs being added to the Refresh plans range)

- getting rid of TuGo (hopefully not). TuGo is a Telefonica's "baby", not sure if they'll allow 3 to keep using it. It would be a shame to see it go though.

- less competition, hence price rises

TuGo likely to be replaced with Three's "InTouch" which is pretty similar, except limited to once device and does not work abroad.

TuGo being replaced would be an issue for me but we need to wait and see.

Software can be acquired and rebranded afterall you would only need to change the graphics and the EULA; the main core of the program wouldn't have to change. Just look at Adobe as a great example of how to buy software and make it your own.

To be honest (sorry o2) but this has made my day.. don't get me wrong I like o2 it's just the network and slow data that puts me off and makes me want to leave...
but I am a old 3 customer and there network coverage and fast data is unmatchable imo. I really hope this happens and we finally get desent data speeds e.c.t
