Saw it earlier on BBC news. Pretty amazing really. One of the scientists involved said they just happened to have the right equipment running at the right time.... Brilliant .Bow

Fantastic discovery, finally proving Einsteins theory, something he never thought humans would do.
Potentially these scientists could use this to look back through time and find the ripples from the big bang itself.

Ah physicists: one to start a theory and others to get grant money to try and prove it.....so basically they've invented a very sensitive trip detector.

 

The slightly less cynical me will be reading the actual experiment details to see if its just a bit of PR to gain exposure for the initial results for getting more funding:
