Nasty burns - but any battery has the potential to do this - maybe the charger had been damaged in some way.

I would imagine there are thousands out there by now but it's good to sensationalise and sells newspapers. But it's still fair warning of the dangers when charging any device. Never leave it unattended.

I shuddered when I read this. Many people know I have been on the receiving end of patients admitted to A&E after faulty charger incidents. I would say she was lucky to get off so lightly. I have seen many who weren't lucky at all....In fact one such 'incident' caused the deaths of a family of four slight_frown
