Facebook reportedly planning Ad Network for Mobile Devices.

"Facebook is finally following the likes of Google and Yahoo and will launch an advertising network with a focus on mobile platforms, according to Recode."

Personally I hope this does not come to fruition.

Ad's are everywhere and I do submit they generate income etc for sites ,but they are the bane of my life on the Net, with some very rarely being affected !

{ad blocker thankfully for me helps.}

Now Facebook are going to be at it even away from the Facebook site. 😞

What do you think of Ad's ?

I agree @Anonymous (which is what I inferred in my post above yours)

However, as you say @Anonymous back on topic wink

(though you should have realised that starting 'anything' Facebook related would result in discussion and

debate)

Soooo...your own fault my friend LOLLOL:smileywink:

I concur @Cleoriff

slight_smile

Like I say thankfully software available stops most of them, even on Facebook.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdBlock for example.

Most sites have like minded ad's on them but Social Media sites are just flooded with dross. 😞

Its funny though BoB. I have only adblock on my Facebook site and I find it blocks everything.

I just think with ads (and knowing how dangerous they can be, due to poor monitoring)

people need to be very wary.

I know of a reputable site which is closely monitored. However a random advert brought problems to

the site and the computers of some users.....

So, I would NOT trust FB ads anymore than I trust that site.Smiley Mad

It would not stop me using FB though. I would just ensure I had every blocking device in place Shirty

Ad block has whitelists as well as blacklist options.

I don't like Facebook it's all to invasive and for some reason everyone seems to want to tell the world what they are doing every 5 minutes id rather text or call

Which are all forms of communication thus all can be intercepted (invasive) one way or another.

I prefer to keep my FB profile private.

As my better half installed it on my computer, I would imagine that is why it works so well LOL

It is a lot harder for texts and phone calls to be intercepted then something that is online for all to see

I have my FB privacy settings as high as possible!  My pet hate with FB at the moment is that videos play automatically and this can't be changed.  I'll watch a video if I want to, not because FB thinks I should!

I also hate the adverts that appear on all sites.  My husband had to restore my PC and I still haven't got around to re-installing Adblock and it's driving me mad!

I note that adblock isn't available for the Android platform.

Are there any that come recommended on here?
