With regard to the 2G/3G/4G toggle, I have an iPhone 6 running 8.1 and carrier setting 18.0. I don't have the toggle. However, my wife has an iPhone 5 running 8.1 and carrier setting 18.0 and she does have the toggle.

If this is a carrier setting, it must be specific to to model of iPhone.

Can you please ask your wife to screen grab that and the about page in the iPhone's settings and upload it to this thread.

To screen grab the screen press the sleep wake button and home button quickly together.
