"The paint contains a "photo-luminising" powder that charges up in the daytime and slowly releases a green glow at night, doing away with the need for streetlights."

What are your thoughts guys? I really like the idea personally. Do you think it would help drivers significantly?

Well if it helps with carbon foot printing and saves energy then it's all good.

Be interesting what the drivers say after trying it out after launch.

I remember the 'cats eyes' used in roads. And yes as a kid I did manage to aquire some. wink

That's a stupid idea if they take out or turn off the streetlights and replace them with this it will be asking for trouble

I'm sure they don't mean within towns/villages. It's more for outlying districts I would have thought otherwise it would be a muggers/thieves paradise.

Ahh, I hadn't considered that grin

In all seriousness though, i think jonsie's point is a great one; It could be a great benefit to many roads in the countryside. It could even help wildlife too, if the lines became recognisable as roads.
