Let us know what you think @viridis. I read about the campaign last night. It sounds really interesting. I cant wait to give it a go.

I'll be getting the Skyrim remaster next week as I've just finished the Witcher 3 (full game, all side quests and expansions). Its an odd feeling, as I think I out about 300 hours int o it and feel a bit lost grin

The trailer for Read Dead Redemption 2 dropped half an hour a go and it looks pretty good!

With past battlefield launches, a few bugs were present, with battlefield 1, it's perfect.
I got it on origin as my new laptop is better specced than ps4 so will be playing mostly on that until I look into ps4 pro.
Anyway, if pc graphics optimisation is anything to go by, console users are in for a treat.
On my GTX 960M 2gb, I can play at 25-35fps on ULTRA settings, which is remarkable as bf3 can do same fps on high, bf4 on medium to high.
If I put on the gpu memory limiter and custom high to ultra, I can get solid 50-60fps, and it looks bloody amazing.

The campaign is remarkable, and is not the usual "let's promote war as a macho look at me" scenario, it's brutal and horrifying setting you up for each stage with a soldier in normal colourful life cut scene sharply blinking into a dull, smokey and rotten image on the battlefield.
Then the words flash up,
"over 100 years ago began world war 1,
60 million soldiers fought in the war to end all wars.
Nothing was ended, but the world was changed forever.

You are not expected to live"

It's a stark and brutally honest approach to shoot em ups, and while COD will be loved by many a 12 year old, shooting laser rail guns in space, Battlefield has got it spot on, war is hell, it will scare the urine out of you and your mate will get his life extinguished at any moment.

I never played the beta or watched any reviews, and I'm glad I didn't, the game is horrific beauty to its very core and will entertain and educate those who don't know just how bad WW1 was.
A definite GOTY winner, and we'll worth the money.
10/10, 5/5, 100% excellence

Thanks @viridis that was an interesting read. Very tempted to pick this up now. Was a little worried by the launch day issues on previous Battlefield titles but sounds like they have it under control.
