Every little help ! Smartphone theft.

Apple joins Google, HTC and others to curb smartphone theft.

Like many others I've been the victim of smartphone theft. My iPhone 4 was pick pocketed.

Since then lots more measures have been introduced such as activation lock on the iPhone in iOS 7.

Much of the measures in the link we all know about ,but the point here is to make it clear stealing or keeping a lost phone is pointless.

It's a shame there isn't something that can be introduced to inside the phone that ruins the internals if an unauthorised person tries to break up the phone for parts !

It sucks but this why you need to keep one step ahead of the thieves. I've lost a couple of handsets and the only option was to get in contact with tech support and get the IMEI blacklisted.

As far as I am cncerned as long as each mobile user secures there phone and SIM card there should not be the issue as long as the moment you realise you get it blocked .

I also advocate this
! apply a sim pin (so sim cannot be put in another phone)
2 phone lock (strongest you can apply)
3 Make the time to require re-entry of codes the shortest time you can.

just my advice

I have ;

Touch id.
4 digit pass code.
Sim pin.
App locker (only applicable to non stock iPhones)

And the most important one.

I Don't leave my iPhone unattended anywhere. Nor is it kept on my
Person where someone could lift it (especially after the first time ) it now goes into a belt holster not on show.
