More like the slowdown in China's economy which results in less money available for luxury goods by the locals. When the factory down the road can churn out an equivalent for less than a third of an iPhone, there's no way you can appeal to that no matter how good your product is. Its going to get worse for any mobile manufacturer now the Chinese are in the global market. Besides, it was inevitable the brick wall of "where do you go from here" was going to be met at some point as there is a limit to what you can fit in a block of plastic/metal/glass. Its mainly the media who are obsessed with getting something different each release where is really going to be a largely unused feature for most of its short life to the average consumer.
