FINALLY!!!!

Its taken the best part of 2 months but I have finally managed to get an o2 wallet!! Now while this is good news, I now need to get myself a physical card. Although it is only £3 now, myself and many others have been trying for a long time. I'm not overly bothered about paying this, even though I don't think I shud have to, I would like to know how to pay this. I don't have another card from which to add funds so is it possible to pay for it in an o2 store? Any help is appreciated

Re: FINALLY!!!!

Hi cripter,

That's great news :smileyhappy:

If you give our Wallet customer service team a call on 10202 from your O2 mobile or 0844 701 0202 from any other UK phone, and they will be able to help you.

Re: FINALLY!!!!

If the reason why u could not get the card for the past 2 months is due to all the problems they been having "1 card per user, techical glitch, ISP, etc." than they will waive the charge when you call them up. That is what they said they will do for me, and if they wont I will do "off-setting" and reduce £5 from my O2 mobile bill.

Re: FINALLY!!!!

I had been trying for about 2 months and was told to call the team, this was after my 1st week of trying to get a card. I spoke to a woman who said that she would log the call and as a result I wouldn't have to pay the charge for the card. I have since got a card as I phoned up the team, they said I would have to add a debit card to the account and they would take the money from that. I explained how I don't have a card to put on the account and that I had spoken to the team before and was told the charge would be waived. She went to speak to her supervisor who said they would put £3 on my account while I ordered a card. So far so good. I got the card ordered and my balance went back to zero, the next day I was having a look at the app and it said my balance was £3 again. Thought nothing of it because I was told the cost of it was being waived. I then went on the dashboard of the wallet, on the computer, see what that was like. On there I found that my balance was -£3. I put money on the card at a paypoint (I know it costs £1 but my nearest o2 store is 2 miles away so didn't go on the trek to save £1) when I did that my balance went up to what I expected. Minus the £3 for the card and the £1 paypoint cost. I wasn't bothered about paying for the card, obviously I would have preferred not to, I was confused as to how I was actually meant to pay for it

Not a good idea, that will only impact your credit rating as an unpaid bill.

O2 Wallet is nothing to do with your mobile phone account.

Re: FINALLY!!!!

It seems like they just credited you the £3 temporarily so you were able to order your card, then once you'd ordered it, they took the £3 back. Without a debit card or any friends with the wallet who could send you a money message - you'd have no way to load money on to your wallet so you could order the card. Seems like they helped you out in this case =)

Re: FINALLY!!!!

That's exactly what happened, I just thought that I would have made some sense for them to allow customers to pay instore, I mean before you order a physical card your account has a virtual card. Surely you could top this up in-store and they could then deduct charge the physical card cost to your virtual account. If you're following me?

Re: FINALLY!!!!

I'm following. The physical card works like a Pay As You Go topup card, but it puts money on to your wallet rather than your mobile. Unlike Pay As You Go topups though, the wallet doesn't have a cardless "voucher" system - so you need to have your card so they can load your wallet. The staff in the O2 store can't lookup your account to put money on to it - their systems need a physical card.

Re: FINALLY!!!!

Well while what you're saying is right surely then it would make sense for o2 to create a 'voucher' system. That way people could go to an o2 store, buy a voucher code, that would then make the payment for the card complete. I.E. When ordering the card, through the app or from the website, you have an option to enter a voucher code
