I know it sounds stupid to have to send documents to them - but you would be a lot more upset if something like ID fraud occurred, where someone opened an account in your name and used it for illegal purposes.
But ID fraud is allowed to exist in O2......eg phones being ordered by non-account holders for delivery to non-account addresses.....search this forum for the many examples.
That is not ID fraud...... It is takeover fraud ![]()
ID fraud is when someone, set up something in your name...

We were talking about when a stranger was allowed to set up a new contract in a customer's name, that sounds like ID fraud to me.
Anyway the title is immaterial, the fact is it is or was allowed to happen.

Everyone is assessed separately.

Just a quick point i'd like to make regarding the £800 yearly limit as well.
I went to load my card recently(tried lots of times in various shops) but it would not load,at first i thought the card was broken, but then i noticed an error message on the receipt for the unsuccesful loads,it said account limit exceeded.
Now i knew i'd only put about 450 on the card altogether,so i phoned customer services, who ran through all my loads etc,and it turns out that they count returns as me loading my card which i think is pretty stupid.
so say for example you have an £800 credit limit and you buy something for £400 and have to return it for whatever reason, thats your credit limit reached as they count that return as you loading money on your card.
Anyone else think this is crazy?

It's really straightforward to upgrade your account limits. If adding your debit card and verifying your bank account didn't automatically increase your limit (it did for me), then all you have to do is send in a 2 pieces of ID (they accept photocopies) and they'll increase it. My upgrade to level 3 was done within a few days, no hassle at all.
