The TM has been removed now completely for The Works, and eased a bit for The Allrounder.
This is the way to go O2! ![]()

Thanks for informing us. I am on 'The Works' package and this news is fantastic, its like the old legacy package that was also 'truly' unlimited and uncapped.

May have to upgrade to the works cause I still think traffic management effects Fifa 12 online...

I am on The Works account and have had traffic management in place all day nearly every day since about a month after joining August last year. I can only get 25Kbps on newsgroups all the time. Things like Youtub/Iplayer and 4ondemand simply aren't usable even though I connect at about 6000-7000 Kbps. I have rung CS many times and go through the same tests over and over again to be told everthing is working as it should be and that TM is only in force at the times stated. Magically a day or so later all is OK for a week or so before it happens again.
Since the change over to NO TM on the works package it has slowed down again to 25Kbs so instead of ringing CS to sort it out I asked for my MAC code and am in the process of moving to fibre with another supplier even though I will still have to pay till the end of my 12 month contact. I have had enough of O2 terrible service.

im in the same boat as Robtek70. im on the All Rounder Package and the download speeds in or out or peak times are crap
any download that is not on P2P is perfectly fine downloading at a good 500-600kbps but on P2P i get 25kbps
at times i get 25kbps then 5 minutes later it rockets to 500+kbps for about 10 seconds then drops back down the 25kbps its like somebody is sitting at the other end clicking a button going "Slow, Fast, Slow, Fast, Slow, Fast"
its clear that o2 are Traffic Managing my connectiong as im using a program called Neubot which randomly tests download speeds and tells me what im getting (or should be getting)
its like O2's traffic management cant decide if it wants to limit my connection or not it does not matter what time of day it is it limits my connection.
the rest of the internet is fine general internet browsing, youtube, BBC iPlayer etc all work perfectly and i have contacted O2 CS they have done line tests and i have done speed tests myself and theres nothing wrong with my connection apart from the fact im been limited to less than 25kbps all day every day on P2P and O2 wont do a dam thing about it
i have just signed up for another 12 months aswell and if o2 dont sort out this connection and traffic management im going to cancel the direct debit and tell them to shove there broadband up there **** and go somewhere else that does not Traffic Manage for less money like Sky Broadband

mattydunn1701, you are lucky to only be TM on your P2P I can only get 25kbs on everything now. I decide to contact customer service yesterday and after a 20min wait spoke to someone who went through all the usual test procedures and said that I was connecting a 650kbs and that there was nothing wrong with my line. I said that although the connection speed is showing about 650kbs the actual download speed of anything, web, youtube, iplayer, emails etc. is still only 25kbs. I was then told that it must be a fault at my end and that they were satisfied that everything their end way OK so nothing else could be done about it.
I have now used my MAC code and will be moving to BT Infinity 2 in 2 weeks so its godbye to O2 and their absolutely atrocious service.

see for me its only P2P thats been limited and i have been trying to get a copy of open sourced linux OS for days and i cant download it via P2P because of the crap speeds.
i contacted o2 and they refused to give me the MAC code to swap ISP because the broadband contract was renewed a number of months ago for another 12 months by my Step Dad and the broadband is not in my name its in my Step Dads name and he and my Mother recently split up and hes moved out and we no longer have contact with at all and because the broadband is in his name we need him to cancel it or him to fill in a Transfer of Ownership which is not possible because we dont have a clue where he is and no way of contacting him.
O2 are screwing with me big time and they will not meet me in the middle because of the present situation. just wish they would either sort out the connection or give me the MAC code but we all know neither of them are going to happen
