Update 17:30
Hi everyone,
Although it already seemed like problems were resolved, there's now also been an official confirmation on the status page:
"Deep Sea Cable Cut
We’re aware that some O2 customers have been experiencing difficulties accessing some websites. This is as a result of deep sea cable damage on Sunday 26 August. The cable that has been damaged is used by multiple ISPs.
Our Broadband team worked with our affected internet transit supplier to re-route service which was completed by 19.00 on Monday 27 August. From that point, normal service resumed for affected customers.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused and we’ll continue to monitor the service while repairs by the cable owners continue."
If you are still experiencing any problems, it's probably not related to this issue and we would therefore advise you to start a new thread in the broadband forums or contact customer support.
Cheers,
Leonard
Update 21:30
Since the last update, some users have reported the problems to be fixed on their end. However, there are still reports coming in where members are mentioning having difficulties reaching certain websites. Some posts mention (temporary) fixes for those intermittent problems.
As soon as there's more information, I'll check back in.
Update 16:30
The broadband status page has just been updated with the following message:
Some customers may experience intermittent Broadband connection issues whilst attempting to access certain webpages. We are aware of this and are working on a swift resolution.
Update 15:45
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your replies so far. Our Network Support teams have identified the cause of this issue and are working on the fix as we speak. We currently have no timescales however we anticipate this will be resolved soon. We're also looking into getting the status page updated ASAP.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused

Now posted here too:
http://status.bememberservices.com/index.asp?DoAct
Some are reporting that forcing an IP address change or using a VPN may help:
http://www.beusergroup.co.uk/?id=886
Note: the forum link on that page is not for O2 customers.
Not all O2/Be customers are affected and it seems to be happening at other ISPs too.

There are threads all over the place, can they not all be brought together under this thread?

onet.pl - now solved
facebook - fine for me, but some reports issues
amazon.co.uk - not working
adobe.com - for me its working, but been reports its not
blizzard login servers - still not working
ebay.co.uk - had issues yesterday, but since evening its perfectly fine
call of duty game servers - had some reports it got troubles as well, altought didnt trace the subject
www.internettrafficreport.com - been dead till about late afternoon, since then working just fine.
swtor - europe servers, us seems fine.
solutions collected so far:
-dynamic ip reseting, in 60% cases might help choosing diffrent route, static ip customers need to call support to reset it. others might work it out by them selfs, but support will speed things up
- 99% temporary solution is to use proxy/vpn thru area that is not affected. there are many of them, cant recomend any since i didnt use them on a daily basis, but cyberghost seems working thru bremen/germany and did connect me to d3.
issues with it is u should pay some to get a proper connection, as ive got a limit just 1gb whioch isnt that great. but should do till all is fixed. another thing is i dont know how many of those sites u can trust, since theres plenty of them, so use it on ur own risk.

thats all i know, hope it helps.

Almost 30 hours to get so much as any acknowledgement on any of the O2 status pages.
A mind numbingly inept display by O2.
