Questions about moderation?

There are no official O2 staff here unfortunately.

They have subcontracted the moderation of the forum to a company which imho doesn't understand the problems people have.

Seriously?

That's ridiculous.

Questions about moderation?

Old thread, but I'd like to add that the moderators have a personal vendetta against me. The smallest thing I say about O2 gets moderated!

Questions about moderation?

Just found this in the forum FAQ

How do I edit or delete a post?
Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it. This will only appear if no one has replied; it also will not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

Ruddy nora, 2-30am and I had to delete two duplicates of this post due to the dreaded 500 error :smileysad:

If you post a message and get the 500 error there's no need to refresh the page because the web server does accept the post. Just go back to the forum homepage and your post will be there.

But yes, needs to be fixed!

Questions about moderation?

Too true Oliver.

Anyway, back on topic. I've had a post deleted today with no notification from the moderators as to why.

If they have time to delete a post, they have time to give an explanation why.

Questions about moderation?

I find it ridiculous that there is no in house moderation here. If one of my moderators started deleting stuff without informing the OP's I would be most dischuffed.

Even if as seems the case, O2 are determined to moderate these forums through a third party, the moderators need to know that it is not acceptable to delete or edit posts/threads without at least giving the member concerned an explanation. It's called etiquette and good manners.

I agree, but I have had posts disappear sometimes and I am sure it's due to the software, as they have gone the very second they've been posted, before anyone had a chance to read them, and trying to repost straight away has caused the same to happen.
