You can disable it on the BT router, but judging by number of SSID's I see for this I suspect few BT user know about it.

Yes you can disable it on the BT routers and I think the same about few BT users knowing about it because BT ship it with the enabled as default

Sorry I actually changed my post from he to she haha..I think its a good idea I think people are getting confused though...
You share a tiny part of your bandwidth for light Internet browsing like hotmail etc and in return if you happen to be in an area where there's another o2 customer you would be able to do the same...
Its not so everyone can freeload nobody is gonna be that stupid to put a feature in like that,also I think the BT one gives you so many minutes of browsing a month so theres a limit.

also obviously you would have to have an o2 broadband account so not just anyone could use it.
