When I got home I had no Internet. I checked my box and there was no Internet light on so I turned box on and off and nothing worked.so I did a reset and that didn't work. I checked my phone line connections and they are ok. Are O2 doing a service update in Romford Essex or do I have a falty box. I have contacted O2 customer services.

I've seen nothing reported for that area, what did O2 say?

Absolutely the same problem here. No internet. After many resets, reboots etc. I am now able to get a connection, but it's a very poor one. I usually have 1mb up and 4.5 mb down - but now this has been reduced to 0.9 mb up and 0.8 mb down. Broadband status page does not show any faults but there definitely is something wrong. Btw, nothing in and around my house has changed, same setup, same location, same situation. Any ideas?

Exactly the same issue here as well (in South East Wales). Last night, at around 9:30pm, my internet connection just died. Only lights coming on on the router are the power and wireless ones. Rang O2 and they appear flummoxed, I've tried a spare router and tried plugging directly into the master socket with no luck.

They must have said more than that, are they investigating for you?

They're going to post me another router so I can rule out any equipment my side. I know it's not that, as my Netgear router is having the exact same result, but they said they can only provide technical support on their own equipment and have to rule that out first before progressing it any further, which is understandable.
