Interesting Advice

I called O2 today just to query whether i would qualify for the 6 months free if i simply upgraded from the basics to the all rounder ,i pretty much knew what the answer would be but thought it worth asking anyway ,although i was indeed told that the free months do not apply to upgrades i was also advised that if i called retentions and mentioned that i wanted to leave i would get a much better deal than the 6 months free ,whilst this may well be true i would not have expected to be told this by CS
almost tempted to give it a go to see what happens :smileyhappy:

Re: Interesting Advice

CS are separate from retentions and don't get any bonuses, so they don't care if customers know how to screw down their margins, the genuine ones are much more interested in giving customers the best advice :smileyvery-happy:
Like the time I told a TMUK customer with no end date on his £15 discount off his £15 contract that he would be best advised to never call T-Mobile ever again lest it draw attention to the error :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Interesting Advice

Well today i got the text to say that my contract is up for renewal and i could either call or do it online
i called the broadband dept and explained i am on the basics and was thinking of going up to the all rounder and if i signed up for another 12 months would i get the 6 months free that is currently on offer for new customers
i was put through to retentions who were only to happy to give me the free time ( 6 months free or 12 months at half price ),so i now have better speed for youtube ( i love my music videos )a new router on it's way and a hefty discount ,happy days.
PS ,am i right in thinking i can use my Buffalo 1TB external drive via the new router

If that's a USB HDD then yes with the boxIV.
There's some doubt in the forum as to whether the new boxV had a usb port, the doc's say it has so it should work with a usb HDD.
