Re: Diary of my O2 experience and the nightmare its become!

Thanks for those links, i will be following this up with Ofcom and any other relevant bodies who i think could help or should know about my case.
Well, the Openreach engineer arrived today and the Phone line is up and running. He couldnt see a reason why i couldnt have my old number back. Odd thing is we have already recieved a phone call asking for someone else! I hope its just a coincidence and not that we have been given a number thats already in use!! :smileysurprised:

Recieved a few more calls asking for someone else. A bit annoying but i suppose i can live with it.
Latest news, and i am NOT making this up, somehow during the course of Wednesday afternoon our home phone number has changed!! Only found that out when i recieved a text from someone trying to call my house on the number O2 gave me, rang my mobile from home and caller ID showed a differant number!! The nightmare continues!! :smileysad:

BT can't garrentee a number can reassigned, sometimes it goes inactive but alvible for the that line, sometimes it goes into a pool of numbers that are not assiginable for a period of time and sometimes it can be reassigned to another line really quick.
You don't own a landline number on a normal consumer account, its leased and apart from that you have no peticular rights to it. Granted they will try to keep it.

I didnt think i actually had ownership of our old number but i did think i had the 'right' to it as long as i wanted it, as you say it seems thats not the case.I was told a number does not go into the pool of numbers for use for 30 days. Mind you that was someone at O2 and i dont believe anything they tell me just now!
Oh! Home phone has now switched back to the number given to me by O2!!
