hi there 1st post here so lets go

went off on holiday over a month ago came back reported my iphone volume switch has came out (iphone 3g 8gig) over 12 months old
got the insurace £10 a month

o2 insurace accepeted the claim , but they dont have any phones in stock

this has now been going on for 2 weeks , and got a snoty letter back off them this morning saying tough we dont know when we are gettiing them in stock ya just have to wait (words to that effect)

not happy in the least

i asked for the new 3gs , they said no straight away

i pay all my bills ontime (DD) so thay cant throw that back in my face

any help guys nd no i`m not bothering with the ombudsman (waste of time)

I am having the same issue.

Lost my iphone just under two weeks ago. They say they dont have any in stock and are waiting on Apple to send some. Now the problem with that is that when you look on the Apple website at the 8gig 3g it says unavailable so if they are unavailiable at Apple how are they gonna send any onto o2.

I have heard that the 3g has been discontinued and may remain out of stock due to the impending release of the 4g.

If this is the case then why cant o2 just send the 3gs out. I have been with o2 for over 6 years and i am a supposed priority gold member and they leave without a phone for coming upto 2 weeks.

surly enough o2 should know this and do something about it
or if someone from O2 is reading this can we have an offical response
reading other website boards and seems like theres a lot of people in the same boat

O2 if this isnt sorted soon trust me as soon as the contract is up i`m gone from o2 and off to vodafone , when i make a threat like that i always keep to them , even if the contract would cost more with vodafone

so come on O2 do something about it or feel free to call me direct or leave me a message on here or be a man about it and reply in public

Yep i second the sentiment.

In the terms and conditions of the insurance it states a phone of similar spec will be sent as a replacement if your phone is not available within 14 days. I am curious to know what this similar phone is, as for me it has to be another iphone (3gs) as i use my iphone for many apps that may not be available on other devices.

On a completely different note i spoke to the sales staff about getting another line for my partner and whether being with o2 for 6 years and being priority gold would mean slightly better deals than whats avaiable to the new customers and was told blankly NO. What a reward that is.... Cheers o2.

Richie first of all sorry for mixing you up in the other post. I would forget about moving to Vodafone as I have a vodafone 3GS and member of that forum. You will find exactly the same complaint there as with O2, out of stock and don't know when they will come in. Possibly this is an undeclared phasing out of the 3G, not to worry you but both firms don't have any.

hi bendan no worries about the mixup easy done
this problem has been on my mind all day and its doing me in
i know there wont ever be another 3g 8gig made and o2 is just trying to delay my new phone
so i`ve sent them a email telling them this and the info i`ve picked up off here about the new 4g phone about to come out so why would apple go back 2-3 years and start making 3g 8gig phones ffs
also said if this isnt sorted in the next week or so i will be off to orange when contract is up which i looked at orange tarriffs and looks fine to me

sorry O2 keep this up and your losing 1 customer but how many customers are you willing to lose because of this

Just had a long conversation with o2 and o2 insurance and i cant even take a down gr

So i can't even take a down grade to a different model of phone.

It will two weeks on monday and and if this situation is not resolved by wednesday o2 will be losing another customer (of over 6 years) here.

As my login name suggests i am furious with this situation.

Should have claimed through contents insurance as a friend has just told me he was in the same situation but claimed through his contents insurance and as the 8g 3g was not available they just sent him a cheque for the next model up a 16g 3gs.

It just shows that poor logistical and fulfilment processes over a two week period can turn a positive 6 year relationship into a massively negative view of o2.

Roll on august and i am out.
