general O2 coverage

I've got a iphone 5s a friend has a samsung s5 we are both on O2 4g contacts yet he can pick up a 4g or 3g signal in Steyning and i just get the 2g signal why is this? and yes my phone is set up for 4g as i get it at work.

You could try rebooting the phone to see if it helps?

According to the current live status there is no 3G/4G status for Steyning.

Very true - so would explain the iPhone but not the Samsung....?

I thought the 5s could also support 800Mhz/900Mhz frequencies. Perhaps I'm wrong........again.

There is a few models of the 5s, so it would all depend on the version the OP has.
