Voda To Acquire Sky? O2 Marginalised???

Anonymous
Not applicable
Analysts expect Voda to launch a takeover of Sky in the New Year. What would this in combination with BT's proposed acquisition of EE mean for o2?

Effectively there would be two quad plays and two stand alones in the UK market. With Three rumoured to be looking at acquiring o2 UK could Three become a mobile only play or could they also make a move on Talk Talk?

My take is that Voda will buy Sky as it fits with their European expansion ambitions combined with their plan to return to the US with a business customer led MVNO in partnership with T Mobile.

I find it odd that it's only The  Express that has any reports about this Smiley Frustrated

Their are a lot of rumours floating about, don't discount liberty global (virgin media) being sucked into these rumours, especially when they cover approx 50% of fixed line broadband in the country.

Rumours are there so that whoever starts it can claim inside knowledge. By the way, the Queen will abdicate in 2016 for Charles to take the throne....

@Beenherebefore

The Express report is the only one I could find today. Of course it may just be City Traders chit chat to try to drum up trade. But then these rumours usually start somewhere.

Voda Sky is logical
Voda Liberty is not (imo) due to Liberty's $40bn + debts
Voda Virgin might have merits if John Malone wants to sell but he has only just bought it.

Xxxx Talk Talk is possible as like o2 they risk being marginalised

Xxxx o2 same as above
