Text Messaging o2 Mobiles From BT Network

For years I have used my BT landline to text messages to my family on the o2 network. About 2 weeks ago, this facility failed and I have done everything to try to sort my landline. I have even spent hours on the phone to BT about this. No one has any idea what the issue is.

This morning, I read some posts on BT's forum that others were exeperiencing problems texting o2 networks and it is beginning to seem that this may only be o2 who are affected.

Is anyone else aware of this issue?

Hi @airsgian,

I'll talk to rest of the team to make sure they are aware of any potential issues. However, I would advise to let us know via customer service too. When/if I hear any news, I'll report back! Also, if you struggle to get any help via customer service for any reason, send me a message any time.

Fancy writing a great device review or O2 forum guide? Send me a message!

Ok, Toby. I'll do that. Thanks for the help.

It seems that things may now be fixed.

Someone on the BT forum has reported that they had success earlier and I have just confirmed this myself now.

I am a happy texter once more.

Good to hear - any indication of the problem?

10.5p per text is quite expensive compared to texting from a mobile. Still, glad it's working for you again slight_smile

Not yet. But as has been mentioned here, I did wonder if the recovery from the break in service yesterday which BT experienced had sorted things.

BT have this morning confirmed their outage was due to a router problem which 'is now fixed'....

That's the second router problem they've had in the last couple of weeks!
