I am also at a loss to understand the need for a tablet for certain age groups...it seems to infer we are all in our dotage...and therefore 'simple is as simple does'

My choice of tablet was down to ..

1) Price

2) Size of screen (10" rather than 7")

3) Ease of use for me  (therefore running Android)

I got the HP Slate which I love. It certainly isn't all singing or dancing but it suits my needs perfectly. My son who has a house full of iPads and the like is very impressed with my choice....and certainly does not think its a tablet for an old woman Drum

To go one step further...my phone is due for renewal in December. I was planning on the Note 3 ...maybe I should scrap that and get one of these  Doro phones Evil

Yes, we should possibly leave all the tech to the younger members.... after all, we couldn't possibly grasp anything new!:smileywink:

The problem with older people is that, they spend their life learning and at some point you just don't need any extra complications. Although I'm no spring chicken nor nearing pension age, I refuse to use to those automated shopping tills you get in Morrison's and the like.

Totally agree.

And to note : Those self service checkouts never work for me.

Always the little red light alerting the assistant to say "here's one that can't use me"

I get :

Please place the item in the bag.

I caught myself actually saying back to it " I have " blumming thing. Said assistant comes over with a smirk and swipes her magical card to say to it, it's ok he's a fool.
