Screen turns off inappropriately

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello

I recently bought a new Sony Xperia Z3 Compact which I love, specially after it was upgraded to Android 5.02.

My problem is that the screen turns off too soon and even while I am reading it. I am not sure how to fix this. Some phone have something called SmartStay which detects if you are looking at the screen, but I cant find anything like this on the  z3.

Any help?

Settings, display, sleep sets the timeout
Settings, display, smart blacklist control sets it to stay on if holding it.

Settings >display >sleep and change to a longer time.
No smart stay on Sony, only Samsung.

To adjust the idle time before the screen turns off

  1. From your Home screen, tap .
  2. Find and tap Settings > Display > Sleep.
  3. Select an option.

Thanks guys for the quick response.

I cant find the smart blacklist control setting though. Maybe it was removed after the upgrade.

Shouldn't have been, it's on my 5.0.2,

Should be just below sleep settings.

If not, maybe feature not present on z3 compact (would be odd tbh)

It's only on the full size Z3 I think.
