Scams Continue

Tonight i had a call from an Ammanford (Wales) number 01269 849592. Being a normal looking landline number i answered it but i struggled to hear the other person.

So i did a Google search and it would appear this is another ppi type scam only this lot are using Skype to cut down their own costs! !!!

Why oh why does the law allow this?

You can report them to Phonpayplus for investigation and if enough people report the same numbers they take action.....

Their not allowed to contact a TPS registered number 28 days after registration.

I think I must be very lucky, whilst I have had the texts, I've never received a PPI or personal accident phone call on home or mobile.

I did have an automated phone call from an 0845 number this morning regarding loft and cavity wall insulation which asked you to press 5 if you were interested and 0 if you wanted to be taken off the list. That was a new one for me.

I've not had that jonsie

Thing is if one pressed a button 0 would they then use that as an indication that they've reached a live number !

If it's a Skype number, registering with TPS or reporting it to Phonepayplus will get zero results. I don't believe you can trace Skype numbers. From what I've read, it's a number Skype uses as a hub to route calls, so they could be calling from anywhere.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
