Poor reception on Galaxy S6

Anonymous
Not applicable

I love my new S6 but I'm finding that the reception indoors is nowhere as good as my iPhone 6.  Whereas the iPhone was clear I'm finding the Galaxy is crackly.  I love the S6 but I'm sort of wishing I'd stuck with the iPhone now although I do think the S6 is a much better phone in many other ways.  Oh well, I've got it for 2 years so I'd better get used to it!

go onto the o2 website and check coverage as their maybe maintainance work going on on your local mast as o2 are still upgrading the 4G network, the device should not make a difference in the signal strength or "call quality" i would just think that work maybe going on in your area slight_smile

Might because the modem is more sensitive.
Try switching to 2g only when at home.

Try cleaning the sim with a dry cloth. If you have an older building then the signal may have trouble passing through. You could try downloading the tugo app & make calls & texts over wifi

I've had a look at the status checker and all is fine in this area apparently.  We live in a 1930s maisonette so I appreciate the signal might not be as good in flats but the iPhone was definitely ok.  I'll clean the SIM when I can find the pin thingy to remove it!

@Cleoriff, apart from this (and the battery life but that applies to all phones!) I'm really happy with the phone - the call quality is ok in most places, the processor is very fast (especially now we've got Virgin fibre broadband), the camera is excellent and it was dead easy to pair with the bluetooth in my car.  Oh and the topaz blue is stunning when the sun catches it!

Oh I meant to add my experiences of TuGo haven't been great - I used it a couple of times on holiday and it was like having a conversation with a Dalek!  It could have been due to the wifi in the hotel, although it worked fine for data on my phone and iPad.

Tugo is much better on Android than iOS.

Interesting!  I had an iPhone when I was in Florida so I'll have to give it a go.  I'll need it when we go back next year as I have to keep in touch with my mother somehow!

Unlock your phone and get a Three sim card to use when in the states.
You can use Tugo all the time then (by using the Three data connection) and not just rely on WiFi.
It will cost you £20 for the all in one payg tariff for a month on the Three network.
