I need help from the forum members please.

A few days ago I was nominated to provide a help link showing ways to pay your O2 bill.

My nomination was a bit 'off the cuff'... due to the fact I have often provided a bookmarked link showing payment methods.

However, there is a world of difference in knowing how to copy and paste the link....and the reality of using different payment methods. Horrified

When I was on PAYG, I used debit cards to top up, as and when I needed to. Moving to contract I set up a direct debit for monthly repayments. Job done (for me).

Since then there have been changes to PAYG tariffs and subsequent payment requirements.

Things I 'think' I know...Rolleys

Contract customers... 'should' pay via direct debit. Though they can pay via MyO2?

PAYG .*Top up via cards online or via 4444....*Automated payment line...*E Vouchers

But what about the new PAYG tariffs....how are these paid?. Can a monthly plan be set up etc etc

I have a feeling there is a heck of a lot more  I should know....but don't...LOL

Any info will be appreciated....Wave

Thanks for reminding me of that one @Anonymous  I will include it...though not be specific as I am sure more banks will include this facility over a period of time

I am pay monthly and have a direct debit in place, but depending on when the payment is due to be taken and to keep budget straight I sometimes pay by debit card using the link from the myo2 app. The DD then isn't taken but remains in force on the account. There are no addtional fees for doing this, and I find it handy to keep my budgeting on track.

Thanks for that @Anonymous . I presume if you use this method you will need to pay at least 6 days in advance so that the DD isn't also taken?

To be honest I hadn't thought about that nor had I taken it into account - the balance on the account goes to 0 and I just assumed that is enough for the DD not to be taken - however whenever I do this it usually is about a week before the DD is due.

The last time I did this I paid on wednesday the 1st April, payment was due on the 6th (bank holiday monday) so the 3rd and the 6th were bank holidays, so in effect I paid 2 working days before payment was due and no DD was taken.

To be honest you were fortunate,  normally you have to allow 5/6 working days to be sure.

Another question then... The PAYG tariffs Big Talker and Big Bundle are they all via the various top up methods or can either of them be set up to have automated payments taken?

(This is probably where I struggle the most...when I was on PAYG, I topped up when I needed to.)

Good god. I wish I had never asked.....(or been nominated for this malarky) LOL I am only down to paragraph 13 so far. (The more I delve into this....I realise how little I know)

Seriously though...can this auto top up be used for both payg tariffs?
