Network Coverage

Why is it I have no coverage at home when o2 shows a full signal if I use their signal checker. I was advised to use Tugo as this would be perfect without any signal, however as soon as I make a call and put my phone to my ear I can not hear the person on the other end and the call cuts off shortly afterwards. Just thinking about jacking o2 in and changing provider.

Put your postcode in here and look down the page to see if any faults are reported http://status.o2.co.uk/
If not, report the issue yourself with this app http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network
Unfortunately, Tugo is a bit random - Sometimes helps if you delete it and re-install it.

Hi

Can you put your sim in a different phone to see if either the sim or the phone is faulty?

To add, there is a network issues help thread here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

If you do move Networks and "jack 02" then you can move your number to a new network.

More here http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/54427... And here on how to cancel http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/m-p/566774/high...

O2 will then let you know whether you have fulfilled any contractual agreement you may have with them.

Please try out over networks via their own payg SIM cards. You can unlock your phone free as a contract customer here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%... so you can try other SIM cards.

It makes sense to move to a network that provides good signal instead of relying on an app that can be patchy at best.

Good luck.

Get it reported via the app and get your friends to do it too.
The more you can get to report the more they will take notice of you wink

Unfortunately the coverage checker isn't 100% correct everywhere. However looking at those results you ready shouldn't be having an issue unless you live in a nuclear bunker

Agree with @Anonymous

The coverage checker leaves alot to be desired. It is a computer simulation of what you "should" be able to achieve however in many areas it is quite simply wrong. It also fails to take account of capacity issues when saying a service is available.

More and more we are hearing reports that users have a signal on their phone but can't use it as there is limited capacity (normally only affecting data - calls are rarely an issue).

Best way to be sure before entering into any contract is to test out payg sims.
