Mega gutted o2 are not offering their 30% discount on the galaxy S6 yet, not sure why as I received it on the S5 when that was first released.......... 😞

You are correct ...this has never been done with Samsung before......only new iPhones.

However, it makes sense that if it is going to be a 6 month wait...then Samsung flagship phones should have the same restriction as Iphones. There are, after all, just as exclusive and expensive

Guess the exclusivity days of the overrated iphone have now gone and someone in the lofty towers of O2 realise that the iphone is no more 'special' and indeed inferior to the latest Samsung releases and has been for years.

Or perhaps there should be NO restrictions regardless of phone. After all you are still committing to a contract. As long as that contract is paid it shouldn't really matter.

Personally I would prefer to see ALL phones being sim free like CPW & Three supply. Then everyone would get updates quickly and it would save the need for operators to check the software on devices before releasing them to the market.

Just found out the discount is now available according again to 'live chat' x2 people but not in the shop. Currently on hold to confirm if thus is the case. What are your thoughts?  I have noticed tarif prices have changed too now.

I have just been into my local store.

The helpful guy there advised that he had thought that it was just the edge that was not available on open, but in the morning conference call he was told that neither were available.

We are still awaiting official confirmation but it seems to be the case that neither will be available for the next few months on the Open scheme.
