Limit usage??

Just got my bill through for my daughters phone £150. I was wondering is there anyway we can limit the usage so she doesn't go over her monthly allowance? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a regular thing now.

Hi and Welcome to the Forum.

She may be using numbers not included in her minutes allowance which are noted here http://www.o2.co.uk/help/everything-else/special-numbers

Their are Apps that convert these types of numbers to ones that do come out of her minutes or use the justsayno type websites such as -> http://www.saynoto0870.com

Also she may be sending MMS messages which are charged at £0.40 each. Here's a couple of links explaining ->

http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref%28User%29:str%28Mob... and http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-Services/Accidental-MMS-Sending-and-How-to-Avoid-it/td-p...

Cheaper alternatives such as using what's app and Viber can help although the other parties need those downloaded too or e mail is another option.

You can download an app called My Data Manager (others available!!) to help me stay within my data limits.

Once you reach your data allowance it will switch to WiFi only.

Regarding calls and texts, unfortunately the network do not offer a "spend cap".

What we mean is to change her tariff, not get a bolt on.
If you look in your My O2 there is a section to "change my tariff." if you look in here it will show you your options.

It won't be an overspend on data as it just stops when your limit is reached, so look at the unlimited calling minutes tariffs.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for all your replies. It has been very useful. I have now managed to get her on a new tariff as all the excessive cost was on calls to other mobiles. Thanks again.
